Chord
Main chord shapes
Backing
One thing I have to tell that at the 13th bar, this progression is common technique of gypsy jazz, so please remember the shapes .
You can use this when you go to 4 degree chord of what you are playing now. This time, Gm6 to Cm6.
I also use this progression on Minor Swing. Have a look at this lesson too. Minor Swing lesson
Solo
In this lesson video, I use quite lot of licks of Joscho Stephan and E note when it’s Gm6 which might sound weird if you are not familiar with 6th sound. But it’s very gypsy jazzy sound so use 6th note in your solos too!
Also ,to learn arpeggios is very important for soloing. Take this lesson ‘Daily Arpeggios’ every day for 30mins. you will get better quick!
practice different keys
I often play bei mir bist du schon in different keys like Dm , Am. So be prepared to play in different keys.
