Solo in this lesson is based on young stochelo rosenberg’s solo, so it’s fast and difficult.
Hope you can make it!
Chords
Let’s have a listen to it first.
chord progression is this.
In the style of gypsy jazz, we often use 2-5 progression. In this case, its D7 – G7 – C7 – F7 , practice to improvise this 2-5 progression.
Chord tabs
We also play backing like this.
and these are the chords used and can use.
Solo
Solo is mostly arpeggios like Django , Stochelo , every other gypsy jazz guitarists use. As I tell you every time , that Arpeggios are very importnt to play gypsy jazz solo.
Daily Arpeggios practice
One tip. At the bar 55th, D#(11) – F(13) – D#(11) on 6th string lick looks like minor arpeggio , but this is D7#9 arpeggio.
Gypsy Jazz Phrases
I made some licks or phrases you might say. Most of phrases are on 4/4 but when you use them, change the rhythm and feeling. It makes your solo richer.
