This song may not be as famous as Minor swing or Dark Eyes but this is one of the best songs to learn Gypsy-Jazz style solo.
This song has many techniques you will need!
Chords
Let’s have a look at the transcription first.
Chord progression
These are the chord tabs. I wrote most of chords without Bass note. But if you can use your thumb to press bass note then please do. Talking about me , I have little hands so I can’t play chords using thumb to press on 6th string after 5th frets…
Solo
Django’s solo starts with chromatic run and if it’s first time to play this things , it’s very difficult to do so. Try this chromatic run practice.
Also in this solo, Django used octaves which is very good way to spice up your solos. To add octaves make your solo richer and more interesting , also audience won’t get bored of your solo.
Extra
Actually Django’s original solo is way faster and quite difficult to play so I lower the tempo a bit. When you get used to this tempo then try the original tempo!
