On the 4th bar, I played 9 fret on 2nd string(G#) , but it’s easier to play 13th fret on 3rd string instead.

Also, This tempo is slower than the original to make it easier to learn.

Chord progression and chord tabs

I wrote A6 or A but I use A69. You have to use your thumb to press 5fret on the 6th string. Take a look at ‘Must-Know Gypsy jazz chords’ for a detail. (If you have small hands or a fat neck guitar , then you don’t have to use your thumb though)

It’s a nice turn around on 31st and 32nd bars. This is 1-6-2-5 turnaround but 6 is dominant chord in this case so he used a Cdim as a substitution for F#7.

Solo

There are so many nice licks in this song so you should use the for other songs to.

Also I want to mention one technique.

Look at C notes on 4th bar. It’s weird isn’t it? because the key is A which means C should be C#.

This technique is called Enclosure. This C notes are played because of C# on 5th bar.

This lick goes C-C-G#-F#-C#-E .  C# is approached by These Cs and G#, F#.

It’s like usual gypsy jazz technique. We often play a note 1 fret before or after the landing note. and in this case, the note 1 fret before and 2 notes then landing note. (sorry about my poor english・・・)

Please take a look at the lesson ‘How to use enclosure in gypsy jazz solos’

Ok, for now, today’s lesson is done. If you wanna learn more , then try these out!!
