This is the lesson for the guys who just started playing guitar.
Minor sing is a must-know-song in gypsy jazz and everybody wants to play. So in this lesson, you will learn to play solos with arpeggios like Django did.
I purposely often use 6th and 7th arpeggios because it sounds gypsy jazz when you use them.
If you are not a beginner the you can skip this lesson and try them!

There are the chord notes I use.
Am6・・・A C E F#(F# is the 6th note )
Dm6・・・D F A B(B is the 6th note)
E7・・・E G# B D(D is the 7th note)
Also I use the fret board all over. Sometimes I see people playing just 1 position like between 4th fret and 8th fret which is ok though , but I always wonder why not use more frets when you have ?
Also Django used all over the fret board , but in his case he had to…
I won’t explain details of arpeggios and scales this time , so please have a look at Category – Scales and arpeggios.
Technique of gypsy jazz
This is a very common technique in gypsy jazz as you can see Stochelo or Joscho Stephan and any gypsy jazz guitarists use.
We play first picking of each set of notes which has four notes is up picking then 3 times down pickings.
So picking goes ↑↓↓↓ ↑↓↓↓
When you play this down pickings , it’s like you move your arm downward. Some people just move their wrists which is ok but it doesn’t look like gypsy jazz way of playing.
When you finish this lesson , you can also try other lessons!
